Text Box: THE END OF DHR!

To our musical friends and family, it is with great sadness that I’m officially announcing the end of Dance Hall Racket after more than 10 years together. We started with Mike on bass, and ended with Mark, Both players equally enjoyable, both talented and driven! I’ve learned a lot from their friendships & thank them both. On a deeper note, for me, this ends a musical collaboration spanning 23 years with my long-time partner/drummer J.R. We’ve always been two very different people at heart, together our differences sparked an onstage energy that was hard to match. Playing together was easy because of our deep musical connection...it kept us rolling for a long time. But...all good things must pass. Personally I strived to play fun & unique covers, some originals, and put on a show for anyone who stopped in to join our ride. Some would say we achieved that, I’m not sure we ever tapped into our full potential! If our musical story touched any of you, and I’m sure it did...I consider us blessed to have shared!

This isn’t the end of our individual journeys though. As soon as Mark heals from his recent surgery he will be testing the waters with another local band that gigs frequently. As for me...I’ve got several things in the works, one of current note is a project with DHR’s original bassist Mike...aka “Maxx”. We just like playing together, we practice, for us that equates into fun! We’ve been jamming since the beginning of the year and will take it to the streets if, and when, it’s ready...The “Jugfish” commeth baby!
